What Color Is Your Parachute?

The rumors have been confirmed, long time leader of ePrize, Josh Linkner, has been asked to step aside by the company's board of directors.

There has already been one offer made to a potential CEO (who subsequently turned down the position -- perhaps after scrutinizing just how poorly the company has been run in the last few years) and another set of negotiations ongoing with a new suitor.

With any luck, Josh will stick around until March 1, 2010 to see the eleventh anniversary of the company he founded before strapping on his golden parachute and taking a giant leap out of ePrize.

In related news, Ivan Frank recently turned in his resignation. This has been a long time coming. It was always a puzzler how Frank got into his position and maintained it for so long.

This only leaves Jordan Broad as the Questionable Employee of the Decade. Working with Broad never fails to leave people flailing to figure out just what he does at ePrize other than take up space.

More news to come.

And if this all does happen.....be nice. Seriously. Shit happened to you a long time ago.

Does anyone know why Ivan resigned? Will Josh stay on in any capacity after March?

why be nice? linkner has such a long list of people he's fucked over during the past 11 years there's gonna be a party like it's 1999 when the shit goes down. he 's fucked everyone over for his failures there's nothing wrong with celebrating a bit when he gets his. shit even his own family can't stand him. it feels good to finally see him get what he's deserved for a long time.

would someone please post ivan's resignation email? and keep us informed!

Sooner or later debts have to be paid. Doesn't matter how long ago they fucked people over.

The bill will come due eventually.

I'm not sure where you get your info, but this is going to happen.

>>this is going to happen<<

Awesome!

to everyone: do you think this change will benefit the current employees who are working there? what about the people who "get paid nothing to do all the work?" Do you think they will finally have a chance to grow or move up in any sort of manner in their personal career- or are they pretty much screwed? How do you think all of this will affect those employees? Also, why do you think they have not released this information about josh being fired yet? Some of us have known or heard rumors for half a year now, and have been told that the rumors are not true- but the evidence certainly seems to be apparent.

If you hate this place so much and are so above ePrize - why do you even bother to post and write about it? Maybe ePrize wasn't right for you but it is right for a lot of it's current employees. There are a lot of people that work here that are happy and the ones that aren't are free to leave.

Just because you weren't happy here and clearly aren't happy now doesn't mean you should act like a 12 year old and spread it all over the internet. Have some class, grow up, get over it and MOVE ON!

Nothing warms my heart like watching ePrize destroy itself further.

I take great joy in NOT being a part of it every single day since I received my "departure" papers.

>> When you've been abused the way so mane exprizers have you have the right to demand justice.

the way the company handled the first round of lay offs(presenting them to the press as "performance-based firings" when they weren't) was shady, but what exactly are you getting at here? your words are worthless without examples or backing.

this blog is going downhill, it's all unfounded supposition at this point with nothing to corroborate anything that is posted.

If you really think about it, aren't all layoffs performance based? I mean does any company fire their best performers? Of course not. If a company has to cut, they cut out the bottom. Survival of the fittest. So if you've been "laid off" from any company, what really happened is that you were in the bottom rung of performers and the company could no longer afford to (or want to) carry dead weight. If you were so valuable, the company would have kept you.

Maybe instead of bitching and blaming others you should focus on how you could be a more valuable contributor. (note: this applies to all companies, not just ePrize)

Actually, a good many of the layoffs in the last year were high performers out of the production side who were also highly paid (relatively speaking, that is). In other words, yet again the management at ePrize has always been about dollar over quality, choosing to keep less experienced people in production and not eliminate the dead weight, overpaid vps in management. Those kinds of decisions always end up affecting the bottom line - which in this case, was the quality of their promotions, the attention to detail and ultimately, the loss of clients. This wasn't, in any way, JUST about the economy - it was equally about how the company has been run and who remains in leadership.

Nope... you're wrong. It is simple economics 101. If a person is contributing more value than they are getting paid, they would never get fired. If they are contributing less, than a comapny (any company) should make a change. Simple fact. If you are getting paid more than you are contributing, you have no right to stay at any company. On the other hand, if you make yourself indespensible, you'll never get fired (at any company). This has been the case since the beginning of modern business. What don't you understand? You believe that ePrize should employ people who don't contribute beyond their compensation level? Wake up!

This is a company that, in truth and actuality, laid off approximately 10% (around 20 heads) of its workforce EVERY quarter for over one year. And yet (not to mention, typically)...none but a very, very few came out of management. This management that does nothing at this company. They don't create, produce nor sell. In fact, they don't even manage. These repeated cuts left those who actually do the work, scrambling to cover, the promotions suffered as a result and the clients continued and still continue to leave in droves. Big ones. So what does that tell you? Simple economics 101 or not, there's something very wrong with the way this company has been MANAGED over the past few years. Perhaps now, whether Linkner leaves or not, the reality of the financial situation they currently find themselves facing will force some major changes and hopefully, the company will survive.

Dear Charles Darwin,

your arguments are predicated on the existence of a rational human actor. Economics 101 is ultimately useless; humans do not necessarily make rational decisions.

The non-existence of rational human actors is the hole in the sinking ship of theories like libertarianism as well as many companies.

Word on the street is that Josh will announce his departure today. I hope he takes the rest of the dead weight (FAMILY) with him!

ROFLMAO at Charlie, obviously not someone who has taken ECO101... :-)
